Mukesh’s rendition was undoubtedly Dumdaar

Chhalia, which released in 1960, is primarily remembered for being the film that marked the D(esa)irectorial debut of Manmohan, who would go on to become the king of masala cinema.

There’s no two ways about the fact that Dum Dum Diga Diga was its most popular song.

The track, which was three minutes and 51 seconds long, was rendered by Mukesh.

It was penned by Qamar Jalalabadi.

Invariably the first song on one’s lips during a game of Antakshari (if the last letter of the previous track is D), the song was composed by Kalyanji-Anandji.
