Kumar (Kisho)rendered his brother’s song

Ashok Kumar made his debut in Bombay Talkies’ 1936 film Jeevan Naiya.

J S Kashyap penned the songs of that film, whose music was composed by Saraswati Devi.

One of its songs was Koi Humdum Na Raha.

It was rendered by Kumar himself. Playback singing wasn’t in vogue then.

The actor’s youngest brother, Kishore, starred in Jhumroo (1961).

Incidentally, the film also marked his debut as a composer.

The soundtrack of Jhumroo featured a cover of Koi Humdum Na Raha. No prizes for guessing that this version, which Majrooh Sultanpuri penned, was rendered by Kishore.
