The singer earned (R)aFilmfare nomination

Aye Gulbadan was the longest of the four songs from Professor on this blog – it was three minutes and 18 seconds long.

The Shankar Jaikishan composition was rendered by the one and only Mohammed Rafi, who was the only male nominee in the Best Playback Singer category at the same ceremony. He lost to Lata Mangeshkar.

It was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri, who earned a Filmfare nomination in the Best Lyricist category in 1963.

Incidentally, he also penned the longest song in the film – Yeh Umar Hai, which was three minutes and 26 seconds long.
