Throughout the
1950s, Kishore Kumar perfected the art of yodelling, leaving his fans
enthralled.
However, he was merely adding the Kishore touch to others’ compositions at that point.
It was Jhumroo that gave him the opportunity to don more hats than he had ever worn. And boy, he grabbed it with both hands, and celebrated the ‘self-employed’ tag by yodel-ay-ee-ooooing into the memories of millions of people (where his achievements will remain etched forever)!
He didn’t just render, but also composed its title track – Main Hoon Jhum Jhum Jhum Jhum Jhumroo.
Majrooh Sultanpuri penned it.
