Mukesh’s ‘patriotic’ trilogy kicked off

Chhodo kal ki baatein, but definitely suno kal ke gaane (listen to the songs of yore), because they were far more melodious, and more importantly, more meaningful than a majority of those of today.

Well, that suggestion was a dead giveaway, wasn’t it?

That was the only song from Hum Hindustani on this blog.

It happened to be the first of three songs that could be collectively called Mukesh’s ‘patriotic’ trilogy of 1960 (read the next two posts for the remainder of the trilogy).

It was penned by Prem Dhawan, and composed by Usha Khanna.
