Guide was an
outstanding soundtrack, and there’s no two ways about the fact that Sachin Dev
Burman, literally and figuratively, outdid himself.
The composer, who usually sang one of his compositions per film, rendered two tracks in the Dev Anand-starrer.
If they were to be arranged in the alphabetical order, Allah Megh De would be the first.
Hats – given its leading man's penchant for them – ought to be doffed to the foresight of Burman, and more importantly, Shailendra, who penned it.
After all, the track is on the lips of the drought-hit 54 years later.
