Ms Bhosle sang it B(a)r(e)ill(y)antly

If the three songs from Mera Saaya (1966) on this blog were arranged in the alphabetical order, Jhumka Gira Re would be the first.

It was Asha Bhosle's only contribution to the film, whose soundtrack featured only solos.

It was the shortest of the three – it was three minutes and 29 seconds long.

While the Madan Mohan composition, which was penned by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, was about an earring that fell in the bazaar of Bareilly, there’s no two ways about the fact that it was a song worth lending one's ears to repeatedly.
