It was (R)afine patriotic number

Shaheed (1965) was a film based on the life of revolutionary Bhagat Singh, but there’s no two ways about the fact that this post couldn’t have been written on a more appropriate day – today happens to be the 122nd birth anniversary of Ram Prasad Bismil, who immortalised the patriotic poem Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna (a song in the film, but not on this blog).

If the two tracks from the film were arranged in the alphabetical order, Aye Watan Aye Watan would be the first.

Mohammed Rafi rendered the track, which Prem Dhawan penned and composed.
