incorrect to state that Mera Rang De Basanti Chola – the second song
from Shaheed on this blog – was the most famous song in the film because
of its association with Bhagat Singh.
The involvement of Prem Dhawan in the track wasn’t restricted to penning it, but he composed it too.
Incidentally, June 13, 2019 happens to be the 96th birth anniversary of the lyricist and composer, so this post is a tribute – albeit a couple of days in advance – to him.
The track was rendered by Mahendra Kapoor, Mukesh and Rajendra Mehta.
