There’s no two
ways about the fact that Aye Meri Zohra Jabeen – which was based on a composition
by Afghan film director, music composer, painter and poet Abdul Ghafoor Breshna
– was the most outstanding song on the soundtrack of Waqt.
It was the shortest song in the film – it was three minutes and 44 seconds long.
Picturised on Balraj Sahni and Achala Sachdev, the song was rendered by Manna Dey.
The only male solo in the film besides Mohammed Rafi’s Waqt Se Din Aur Raat, it was penned by Sahir Ludhianvi and composed by Ravi.
