Rafi left his fans overJoyed

If the three tracks from Love In Tokyo (1966) were arranged in the alphabetical order, Aa Ja Re Aa Zara would be the first.

This sensuous number – picturised on Joy Mukherjee, the film’s lead – was one of the two songs from the film rendered by Mohammed Rafi on this blog.

He sang another solo* in the film – O Meri Shah-E-Khuban. That song, which could be translated to, “Dear ruler of my heart”, isn’t on this blog.

The Shankar Jaikishan composition was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri.

(*Note: Incidentally, every track in the film was a solo.)
