Rafi turned melancholy to positivity

Kabhi Na Kabhi, the only song from Sharabi (1964) on this blog, was, in a couple of ways, the antithesis of Kisi Na Kisi Se, from Kashmir Ki Kali, which released the same year.

Firstly, it was a sad song.
And secondly, the mnemonic I coined to memorise the latter was rearranged in this case – it went, “Kabhi na kabhi, kahin na kahin, koi na koi to aayega” (At some point, somewhere, someone will come).
It was rendered by none other than Mohammed Rafi.
The song, which Rajinder Krishan penned, was composed by Madan Mohan.
