Indeed, Ms Mangeshkar was (Manc)inimitable

This blog contains posts on a couple of songs from Gumnaam, which released in 1965.

If they were to be arranged in the alphabetical order, Gumnaam Hai Koi would be the first.

The track, which was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri, was composed by Shankarsingh Raghuvanshi and Jaikishan Dayabhai Panchal.

It was inspired by the title track of Charade (1963), which Henry Mancini composed.

The song was rendered by none other than Lata Mangeshkar (whose other solo from the film – Gham Chhodke Manao Rangreli – was also called Is Duniya Mein Jeena Ho Toh Sunlo Meri Baat.)
