Indeed, Rafi’s complaints were awesome

If the five songs from Arzoo (1965) on this blog were arranged in the alphabetical order, Ae Nargise Mastana would be the first.

The phrase could be translated to an intoxicated narcissus.

Given that this was a song with a superb hook, bas itni shikayat hai (there’s just one complaint) that the quartet associated with it did not bag an award.

The track was penned by Hasrat Jaipuri. Interestingly, the film’s title and the lyricist’s name mean desire.

It was rendered by the one and only Mohammed Rafi.

The song was composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
